Louis Guzman, 55, of Muleshoe, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, near Post, Texas.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1948, in Snyder, Texas, to Porfirio Felix Guzman and Luz Guzman.

He married Tomasa Gallegos on Jan. 12, 1969, in Muleshoe. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Spanish Methodist Church in Muleshoe, worked as a truck driver for Reynolds Trucking of Clovis, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Muleshoe.

He was preceded in death by a son, Louis Guzman Jr., on Nov. 2, 1990; by two brothers, Porfirio Felix Guzman Jr. and Tony Guzman; and by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Alfredo Guzman and Sergio Guzman of Muleshoe; two daughters, Socorro Guzman of Muleshoe and Erica Guzman of Lovington; two sisters, Mary Hodges of Muleshoe and Elizabeth Guzman of Albuquerque; three brothers, Daniel Guzman of South Texas, Frank Guzman of Muleshoe, and David Guzman of Snyder; and 13 grandchildren.

The Rev. Javier F. Careaga will officiate. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery in Muleshoe.

Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe.
