Calvin Litchfield, 60, of Tucumcari, died on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 in Tucumcari.
He was born March 23, 1943, in Clovis to Homer and Vera Litchfield.
He graduated from Clovis High School in 1961 and from McMurry University in 1965. He was a certified public accountant who owned and operated the Litchfield Accounting Office in Tucumcari.
At the time of his death he was serving as mayor of Tucumcari and had been a Tucumcari city commissioner since 1998.
He had coached Little League baseball and had been a member of the Lions Club. He was on the board of advisors for the Tucumcari Federal Savings and Loan Association, was active in the Center Street United Methodist Church where he had served as treasurer for the church, and was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 1172 of Tucumcari. He also loved playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Bryan Litchfield in 1999; his parents; a brother, Stanley; and a sister, Fanchion.
Survivors include by his wife, Ruth Ann Litchfield of Tucumcari; a daughter, Leslie (and husband, Brian) Brusa; a daughter-in-law, Kim Boyd; a brother, Don Litchfield; and two granddaughters.
Pallbearers were Tom Johnston, Jim Norris, Charlie Maciel, Richard Primrose, Gary Lee, Mike Cherry, Charlie Bowen and David Hale. Honorary pallbearers were the city commissioners and the board of directors of Tucumcari Federal Savings and Loan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lexxy and Shelly Litchfield Scholarship Fund at Citizens Bank. Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
