Two die in Texas crash

Two west Texas residents died Thursday afternoon in a crash just west of Post, Texas, according to preliminary reports from the Lubbock office of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A written accident report wasn’t available by press time, but Texas DPS officials confirmed that Tomasia Guzman and Luis Guzman, both 55, died of injuries suffered in a crash about 2:30 p.m. (CDT) on U.S. Highway 84 four miles west of Post, a small community located about 40 miles southeast of Lubbock.

Traffic in the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 84 was closed until after 7 p.m.

Although the exact residence for the Guzmans hadn’t been identified by DPS officials, they confirmed that it was either in Parmer or Bailey County.
