Lloyd W. Jones, 74, of Albuquerque, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.
He was born on May 1, 1929, in Wellington, Texas, to Jewell and Andrew Jones.
He was descended from early Texas Panhandle settlers. In 1942, the family moved to a farm south of Portales. He attended and graduated from Portales High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Etolia Jones in October 1949 in Portales.
He worked as a telephone lineman and an electrician for the majority of his life in Portales, Wilcox, Ariz., and Ruidoso before moving to Albuquerque in 1981. He worked in apartment management for a number of years at the U.S. DOE Central Training Academy’s Life Fire Range. He was a member of the Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Albuquerque.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Col. (Ret.) Guy Jones (and wife, Gail) of Albuquerque; a daughter, Pam Fagan (Charles) of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; a brother, Burrell Jones of Tulia, Texas; and a sister, Emma Lou Fry of Lubbock.
