Norm Stratton, 70

Norm Stratton, 70, of Clovis, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at his home.

He was born on Aug. 20, 1933, in Tucumcari, to Jewell and Winnie Davis Stratton.

He married Suzie Reagan on Aug. 7, 1955, in Tucumcari. They moved to Clovis in 1969. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. In 1959 he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and was recalled to active duty during the Cuban missile crisis. He worked for KTNM and KICA radio stations where he would broadcast football and basketball games for the Wildcats and Tucumcari Rattlers for many years. In 1999 he retired from Allsup’s corporate offices after 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Spencer (and husband, Todd) of Clovis; two sons, Stuart Stratton (Terri) of Clovis and Steve Stratton (Ruth) of Las Vegas, Nev.; three granddaughters, Haley and Jenna Spencer and Sidney Stratton; four grandsons, Taylor, Cody, Wade and Zach Stratton; a brother, Bill Stratton of Tucumcari; and two nieces, Susan Scribner (Ronnie) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Karen Loving (Joe) of Hobbs.

The Rev. Steve McElroy will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Quay Cemetery in Quay.

Pallbearers will be Cody and Wade Stratton, Glenn Berry, Eddie Pullman, Rob Roark and Greg Zurzolo.

Arrangements are by Steed Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Clovis.
