Mrs. Verba Ann Choate, 86, of Clovis died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Laurel Plains Healthcare.

She was born March 24, 1917, in Erath County, Texas, to Albert Oliver and Martha Ann Burton Lewis.

A longtime Curry County resident, she worked for Dr. Crawford as a dental technician for many years before her retirement. She was a longtime member of Advent Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Guy and a brother, Weldon Lewis.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Edith Lewis of Clovis; a niece, Donna Lewis of Austin, Texas; and two nephews, David Lewis of Grady and D.R. Lewis of Clovis; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Louia Gransee will officiate at the service.

Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
