Mrs. Antonia D. Armijo, 98, of Portales, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.

She was born on April 12, 1905, in Villanueva, to Leonarda and Santana Duran.

A few years after she was born she moved to Puerto de Luna near Santa Rosa. Later she moved to Encino where she lived until 1961. In Encino she was married to Zenon Apodoca. The couple had three children before Mr. Apodoca died. In the spring of 1936 she married Luis V. Armijo in Estancia. In 1961 they moved to Portales. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Family members said she was a devoted mother and grandmother, who doted on her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carlos and David Duran; three sisters, Cleo Duran, Manuelita Cordova and Ramona Ortega; two sons, A.D. and Santiago Apodoca; an infant daughter, Stella Apodoca; and by both of her husbands.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Genoveva Sanchez (and husband, John) and Victoria Jaramillo (Claude) all of Portales; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous honorary grandchildren.

Father Tobin Hitt will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Portales Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
