Elsie Reid, 71
Mrs. Elsie Reid, 71, of Clovis, a retired federal employee, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.
She was born on June 28, 1932, in Littlefield, Texas, to J.C. Sr. and Adelia Howard.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, family members said.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, J.C. Howard Jr.; and a grandson, Shawn Dow.
Survivors include her husband, Doyle Reid of Clovis; six sons, John Reid (and wife, Elisabeth) of Belton, Texas; Howard Reid (Wanda) of Wakita, Okla., Jimmy Reid (Lydia) of Kingsland, Texas, Larry Reid (Dyanna) of Clovis, Phillip Reid (Becky) of Elberton, Ga. and Victor Reid of Wakita, Okla.; two daughters, Virginia Clark of Portales and Joyce Tucker (Les) of Moody, Texas; 43 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, L.K. Howard (Bly) and Bill Howard (Maimee) Howard, all of Clovis; and two sisters, Della Choate (Lawrence) and Stella Hines, all of Clovis.
The Rev. Sam Kelley will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Foundation.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
