Milton Doane Bridges, 73, of Georgetown, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003.
He was born on June 24, 1930, in Belgrade Lakes, Maine, to Dr. Milton Arlanden and Marie Troutwine Bridges.
He lived in New York City until 1939 when he moved to Houston after his father died. He lived in Houston until he joined the Army. He spent his adult years in the Army and in civil service as a personnel director and requirements analyst. He spent seven years at the Manpower and Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio. He helped develop the military and civilian personnel data systems. He retired in 1980. His lifetime love of the beach took him to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., where he managed the Emerald Lounge, retiring again in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary M. Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Sue Taylor Bridges of Georgetown, Texas; four daughters, DyAnna Robinson (and husband, Russell), Mary Lee Roberts, Doane Marie Bridges and Kimberley Bridges Booth; a granddaughter, Amy Sue Davis (Darrin); three grandsons, Sean and Jared Lambert and Rustin Robinson; a great-granddaughter, Devynn Davis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Nancy Taylor of Clovis, Jerry and Marilyn Mozer of Alamogordo and George and Diana Taylor of San Jose, Calif.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. (CDT) Saturday at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown, Texas.
