Ms. Irene Luecke Kuehn, 94, of Wichita Falls, Texas, a homemaker, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Clovis.

She was born on May 30, 1908, in Wichita Falls, to Henry Christian and Emma Deffner Luecke.

She married J. Carl Kuehn on Aug. 26, 1934, in Wichita Falls. She was a church historian. She was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wichita Falls. She taught Sunday school for over 25 years. Family members said she was a seamstress, clothes designer and an artist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; and seven brothers.

She is survived by three sons, John Kuehn of Lubbock, Edwin Kuehn of Atlanta, Ga. and Richard Kuehn of Durham, N.C.; a daughter, Sylvia Bean of Clovis; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Scott Blazek will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons-in-law and her nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wichita Falls, Texas.
