Businesses to close for holiday

The following entities will be closed Friday in observance of the July 4 holiday: The post office; Portales City Hall; Roosevelt County Courthouse; the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce, Magistrate and Municipal Court and local banks.

Many local retail stores and restaurants will be open through the holiday weekend.

The Portales News-Tribune office will be closed on Friday. However, an associate will answer phone calls from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday to handle newspaper delivery problems.

If you do not receive your paper, call 356-4481 on Friday morning.
