Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
They may be called Tops in Blue but they won’t be singing the blues when they perform tonight in Clovis.
America’s favorite Air Force Band will be tootin’ a selection of pop music ranging from the 1950s up to present when they perform at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Doc Stewart Park in the Chavez Housing Area near Cannon Air Force Base. The concert is free and open to the public.
Concert-goers can bring lawn chairs, but are asked to leave backpacks, coolers and bottles at home. The performance will be followed by a fireworks display.
“We expect a big turnout from the base,” Master Sgt. Stefan Alford, media relations spokesperson at CAFB, said. “Tops in Blue is always popular with families, and obviously, we’d like to invite the civilian community as well.”
During each annual tour, Tops in Blue entertains more than 250,000 military personnel and their families, presenting an average of 120 performances at 100 locations worldwide.
