The Dora Coyotes built a double-figure lead in the first half, then fought off a Texico comeback to edge the Wolverines 56-50 Saturday night a Greyhound Arena for the biys championship in the 45th annual Eastern Plains Athletic Conference basketball tournament.
Seniors Chris Rolston and Matt Carpenter led the way for Dora (7-3) with 21 and 17 points, respectively, and Carpenter also had 17 rebounds as the Coyotes won their first EPAC title sice they won three straight from 1971-73.
