Founders Day to be celebrated Monday in Clovis

Monday is Clovis’ 116th birthday. Monday is Founder’s Day in the city and the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring an event to be celebrated.

According to a news release from the chamber there will be an unveiling of a new Clovis mural downtown.

The new “community mural” will be unveiled at 11 a.m. Monday at the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce building at 105 E. Grand Ave.

The release says area residents are encouraged to attend the unveiling and show community pride by wearing items that display the Clovis logo.

Later in the week chamber officials will be announcing the winners of the Founder’s Day coloring contest. The winner’s illustrations will be displayed and featured on limited edition postcards.
