An area woman has notified the city of Texico, Curry County and the state of New Mexico she will be seeking “all damages allowable” because of an accident in Chaves County last September.

Jasmin Wilson, age and address unknown, filed a Tort Claim Notice on Feb. 10 through the Santa Fe law office of Larsen & Mender.

Wilson was one of four people in a Texico ambulance on a transport assignment to Roswell.

Others in the ambulance besides Wilson were Curry County Deputy Amy Jo McKenna and two people from the Texico ambulance service.

At the time of the crash, New Mexico State Police reported three occupants of the ambulance were flown by helicopter to trauma centers in El Paso and Lubbock.

State Police reported the preliminary investigation showed the ambulance was traveling west on U.S. 70 toward Roswell and for reasons still under investigation, the ambulance drove into the dirt median and rolled. The ambulance came to rest on the eastbound shoulder of the highway, ending up on its wheels.

Deputy McKenna has returned to light duty with the Curry County Sheriff’s Department according to Sheriff Mike Reeves.
