No arrests in latest homicide

No arrests had been made by mid-day Tuesday in connection with Clovis' latest homicide.

Police said the victim was Victor Davila, 22, of Friona. Two women, whose names were not released, were injured during the shooting. The women were treated and released at Plains Regional Medical Center, Police Chief Roy Rice said.

District Attorney Brian Stover said police have two suspects in the shooting that occurred about 12:50 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Connelly Street.

Officers were dispatched to the scene after witnesses reported multiple gunshots. While responding to that call, another call came in about a vehicle crashing into a home at 915 Connelly St.

According to a news release from Clovis police:

Emergency responders found a black GMC pickup truck had crashed into the house. A man was removed from the truck's driver's side with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The region's Major Crimes Unit was activated and is investigating the homicide.

Saturday's slaying is the sixth this year that Curry-Roosevelt county officials have investigated as homicides.

Suspects have been identified and arrested in five cases and are awaiting trial.

Police have yet to release any information regarding suspects in Saturday's homicide.
