Police investigating Saturday armed robbery

CLOVIS – There was an armed robbery at a Clovis convenience store Saturday night.

Clovis police lieutenant Trevor Thron reports at about 10:23 p.m. Saturday officers were dispatched to the Allsup’s store at Seventh and Hondo streets.

Employees had reported an armed robbery that had just happened.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned man about 6 feet tall, 300 pounds.

Employees said the man came into the store wearing a camo hooded jacket, a face covering, with a firearm in one hand and a paper bag in the other.

With the store clerks at gunpoint, the suspect demanded money from the cash register be put into the paper bag. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The case is being investigated by the Clovis Police Department’s Detective Unit. The Clovis Police Department requests that any person having information related to this incident to contact them.
