The National Weather Service is predicting snow and slippery road conditions starting late Thursday night and lasting through late Friday morning.
Curry and Roosevelt counties both have a better than 70% chance of snow, starting about 11 p.m. Thursday. Wind gusts higher than 30 mph are expected to accompany the flurries, along with freezing temperatures.
Forecasters expect less than 2 inches of snow for the Clovis-Portales area, though 4 inches could fall to the north.
Low temperatures Thursday night will dip into the mid-teens. Friday's high will be just above freezing, with Friday night temps expected back in the mid-teens.
The storm system is expected to be gone by Saturday, with temperatures in the 60s and little chance of precipitation.
