Thornton Street work ongoing

CLOVIS — K. Barnett and Sons is continuing work on Thornton Street from 21st Street to Llano Estacado Boulevard, and will not be passable to traffic.

After the first lift of paving is complete, there will be a 2-inch lip between the new and existing asphalt. Residents are safe to drive in these areas afterwards but are asked to please use caution when driving. K. Barnett is working to facilitate local traffic as much as possible.

Paving will occur on Thornton Street from 21st to Manana began Thursday and will continue through Tuesday. Work will then progress from Mañana to Llano Estacado through Friday. The city will provide details after Thanksgiving on the final lift of asphalt.

Other affected intersections by construction of the city’s effluent reuse water pipeline include Llano Estacado/Thornton and North Prince/Wilhite. The work is part of the City of Clovis’ construction of the effluent reuse water pipeline.
