Clovis native selected for RPNM

ALBUQUERQUE — A Clovis native was selected Sunday as the new executive director for the Republican Party of New Mexico, according to an RPNM release.

Nike Kern, a fourth generation New Mexican, will supervise party operations, help set the party agenda, oversee a statewide network of GOP operations, help recruit candidates, manage RPNM staff and guide the party into the future, according to the release.

She replaces Anissa Tinnin, who has held the position for the last two years but decided earlier this year not to continue in 2021.

Kern’s experience includes work with former U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici and Sen. Thad Cochran, and time in New Mexico, Oregon and South Carolina. She recently served as the campaign manager for state senate candidate Melissa Fryzel.

“I’m honored to play a vital role in helping move New Mexico toward economic stability and prosperity while enhancing individual liberty through Republican Party ideals,” Kern said in the release. “With Chairman (Steve) Pearce at the helm of our new team of statewide elected officers, we will bring our vision to all New Mexicans in the coming legislative session and beyond. In addition, I applaud my predecessor, Anissa Tinnin, who has performed an outstanding service to all New Mexico Republicans throughout her tenure.”
