Report: Pedestrian struck twice

CLOVIS — A pedestrian who died in an October accident was struck by a pair of vehicles, according to a crash report of the incident released last week.

Cindy Tenorio, 56, died at the scene of the Oct. 25 crash on East Llano Estacado Boulevard.

The News received the crash report Friday following a public records request. The report cleared for release redacted the names of both drivers and a witness to the event, and there was no indication of citations.

According to the report:

• The driver for Vehicle 1 said he was traveling west on Llano Estacado when a black object appeared in the roadway. The driver said the object appeared too quickly for him to swerve, and he stopped his vehicle to render aid after realizing it was a person.

• The driver for Vehicle 2 said he was traveling east on Llano Estacado and saw what looked like a person crossing the road. He said he saw Driver 1 strike the pedestrian, who was then flung into his lane too quickly for him to evade.

• Another witness told police he observed the pedestrian walking north before she was struck separately by each vehicle.

• No contributing factors were attributed to either driver, and both were evaluated on scene before declining medical transport.
