Coronavirus blamed for death of Roosevelt County woman

The coronavirus has claimed the life of a Roosevelt County woman in her 50s, marking the fourth virus-related death reported in eastern New Mexico this week.

New Mexico health officials reported the death on Friday. She had been hospitalized with underlying conditions.

She was the second virus-related death this week from Roosevelt County. Two Curry County residents also died this week, bringing the region’s total COVID-19 fatalities to 23.

Parmer County: 8

Bailey County: 5

Curry County: 5

Roosevelt County: 3

Quay County: 2
