Clovis school board to hold virtual meeting Tuesday

CLOVIS — The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education will meet Tuesday night in regular session, with the meeting its first since the Public Education Department shifted to a learn-at-home model for the remainder of the school year.

The 5:30 p.m. meeting will be held virtually due to state public health orders banning mass gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting can be joined at zoom.us/j/98916085321?pwd=Q3VHMlpxekJYS0o5Z3MwdFUxRytzZz09. The meeting ID is 989 1608 5321 and the password is 057217.

Anybody wishing to speak during the public comment portion is asked to fill out a speaker’s registration form available on the Clovis-schools.org website at least 30 minutes prior to the meeting.

The meeting will include an update on the pandemic from Superintendent Renee Russ. The agenda includes no action item requests in the superintendent’s report section.

Other items on the Tuesday agenda include:

• Consideration of the 2020-21 salary schedule.

• An amended fleet services contract with Adair, Inc.

• Approval of board policy covering Discipline, Suspension, Termination and Discharge of Professional Staff Members and introduction of policies regarding sick and holiday leave and vacations.

• A contract with Carr, Riggs and Ingram for the 2019-20 fiscal year audit. The district has contracted with Jaramillo Accounting Group for the last three years and has to contract with a different auditor due to state rules.

• Removal of a 2012 Chevy Suburban, a 2016 Ford Expedition and a 2003 Chevy Suburban from the district inventory. The first vehicle is slated for auction, with the proceeds to fund a future replacement vehicle, while the other two will be used as an anticipated $24,000 in trade-in value on future vehicle purchases.
