CLOVIS — The Clovis Police Department arrested a teenager Monday morning following an incident that left two people injured with gunshot wounds.

According to a release from Capt. Roman Romero:

• Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Oak for a shots fired call. When they arrived, they were forced to take cover as shots were being fired at them.

• A 32-year-old male and 31-year-old female escaped the home. The female collapsed to the ground, having been shot by the person inside. She was not able to move to cover on her own, but was extracted with the help of the department SWAT team and an armored vehicle.

• Both the male and female were injured by gunfire and transported to Plains Regional Medical Center. The female was later transferred to Lubbock. Her condition was not immediately available.

• Contact was made with the remaining person in the house, a 16-year-old male. About two hours after first being dispatched to the scene, the male was taken into custody without incident.

• The teen faces two counts each of kidnapping, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, aggravated battery and three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.
