Clovis schools promote staff

Clovis Municipal Schools has promoted Heather Woodard to director of support services, according to a district release.

Woodard, who joined CMS as a special education liaison, will begin her duties July 1.

The vacancy was created by the retirement of Becky Johnson.

Woodard has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice and a master’s degree in criminal justice from New Mexico State University, and a master’s degree in education administration from Eastern New Mexico University.

Students invited to meeting

Clovis High freshmen and sophomores are invited to a pair of informational meetings about an Early College High School program offered at Clovis Community College.

The joint effort with CCC and Clovis Municipal Schools is to target students either looking to get a jump-start on college credits or start with a career and technical education program. Successful students would graduate from CHS and simultaneously earn either an associate’s degree or an industry credential.

Students can attend either 5:30 p.m. Feb. 19 or 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26, with both meetings at CCC’s Town Hall.
