RGH board approves land sale resolution

PORTALES — The Roosevelt County General Hospital Board of Trustees has approved an official resolution for the sale of land to Goodlife for the construction of an assisted living facility near the hospital.

The contract had been amended slightly by the hospital's attorney to eliminate the possibility of Goodlife deciding to build something different than the intended structure after the contract had been approved.

The new facility is part of RGH’s Senior Living Initiative project and Goodlife will be developing a 2.81 acre parcel of the hospital’s land for it.

Other highlights from Tuesday’s RGH board meeting include:

• The hospital's new phone system will be installed this month, with several phones already in operation. It's estimated the system will be fully operational midway through the month.

• The board approved credentialing for seven radiology doctors.

• The hospital's emergency department construction project is scheduled to be halfway done with its design phase by Feb. 14 and 100 percent complete by the second week of May, at which point the hospital administration hopes to hold a groundbreaking ceremony.

• The board approved the purchase of a surgery tower for $111,000.

• The board signed new bank cards and approved hospital employees annual conflict of interest forms.

• The board received financial, clinic and quality reports during the meeting.

• The meeting ended with an executive session to discuss attorney-client privileged information and long term, strategic planning and limited personnel matters. No action was taken.
