FARWELL — It took just about everything for the Farwell Steers to get past Lockney on Tuesday night.
Down 14-7 at the quarter, Farwell rallied to grab a one-point lead at halftime and survived a seesaw second half for a 48-45 victory over the Longhorns.
“They’re pretty quick; Lockney’s always pretty scrappy,” Steers coach Shane Perkins said. “This was our 11th game over the last couple of weeks, and I think we may have been a little tired.”
Junior Jonathan Mora was the only player in double figures for Farwell (9-5) with 12 points. Sophomore Nathan Ceniceros scored 14 points and sophomore Josh Barreterro added 11 for Lockney (3-4).
