One dead in Clovis shooting

CLOVIS - Police say a 36-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday night in the 1000 block of North Lea Street.

The victim is identified as Jahmall Burge.

Police are searching for Johnny Ray Vigil, 26, whom they've identified as a "person of interest" in connection with the case.

No arrests had been made Thursday nigth.

According a police news release:

• About 6:45 p.m. Thursday, police received a 911 call from the 1000 block of North Lea Street. The caller relayed that a male subject had been shot multiple times.

• Police arrived on scene, where they were directed to a deceased male in the kitchen of the residence. The male appeared to have received gunshot wounds and was no longer alive. The dead man was identified as Burge.

• Police and the region's Major Crimes Unit are investigating the incident as a homicide.

• Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clovis Police Department at 575-769-1921 and ask for a detective.
