Clovis' Cops and Kids event gears up

CLOVIS — The Clovis Police Department is preparing for its annual “Cops and Kids” Christmas event.

The event occurs a few days before Christmas and gives local children a chance to go shopping with an officer or first responder. Each child ages 3-13 selected for the event will receive $100 for the shopping spree.

Applications are available at the CPD records department at 300 N. Connelly. A panel of officers and civilians review each application. Parents or guardians of selected children will be contacted with instructions. Applications must be received by Dec. 1.

The department will hold fundraisers 5 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Prince Street Leal’s location and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at Daylight Donuts.
