Tornado warning issued

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Curry County until 7:30 p.m.

A thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located east of Clovis and moving around 35 mph.

Residents is the area are advised to take cover immediately.

SOUTHEASTERN CURRY COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO... * UNTIL 730 PM MDT. * AT 642 PM MDT, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR CLOVIS, MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH. HAZARD...TORNADO. SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION. IMPACT...FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE CAUGHT WITHOUT SHELTER. MOBILE HOMES WILL BE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. DAMAGE TO ROOFS, WINDOWS, AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. TREE DAMAGE IS LIKELY. * THIS DANGEROUS STORM WILL BE NEAR... TEXICO AND PLEASANT HILL AROUND 700 PM MDT. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
