Roadway being upgraded

PORTALES — Work began last week on South Roosevelt Road U between U.S. 70 and South Roosevelt Road 9, and is expected to be completed May 22, weather permitting.

The roadway is being upgraded from dirt to caliche as part of a Local Government Road Fund Grant. Motorists are asked to drive slow and watch for equipment and personnel in the work area.
