County to hold block grant meeting

CLOVIS — Curry County will hold a public meeting 11:30 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Curry County Administrative Complex to report on past Community Development Block Grant program activities and to receive public input on community development needs and suggestions for future CDBG projects.

The CDBG program was established under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, in order to assist communities in providing essential community facilities, providing decent housing for residents, promoting economic development and maintaining a suitable living environment. Eligible activities and categories will be described. Previous county CDBG Projects include the Melrose Health Clinic and road improvements on County Road 11 from Wheaton to County Rd N and County Road N from County Road 11 to Highway 60/84.

All interested parties are invited to attend, submit project ideas, provide supporting data and testimony, and other pertinent information.

With sufficient notice, a translator will be provided for non English speaking residents.
