6 p.m., San Angelo, Texas

Last time out: San Angelo State visited Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday and took care of business, 75-65. The Greyhounds visited UT Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas on the same day, but lost 95-81.

Last meeting: Feb. 22, 2018. The Greyhounds came in on a three-game losing skid and lost their fourth straight in heartbreaking fashion, with an 86-63 overtime loss at San Angelo, Texas.

The lowdown: The Rams are on a modest two-game winning streak, with a 115-54 home rout of Dallas Christian preceding Saturday’s win at A&M-Kingsville. They have balanced scoring, with their top three scorers averaging roughly the same — Daron Mims and Ronald Bell 12.8 ppg and Antonio Singleton 12.3.

Saturday

Eastern New Mexico at Texas A&M-Kingsville

3 p.m., Kingsville, Texas

Last meeting: Feb. 24, 2018. The Greyhounds entered their last regular-season contest on a four-game losing streak, but ended the regular season on a high note, with a 58-56 win at Kingsville.

The lowdown: Defensively, the Javelinas are opportunistic, averaging 18.1 ppg off turnovers. Offensively, not so much — the Javs have shot only 40 percent from the field this season, 27 percent from three-point range.

Women’s

Thursday

Eastern New Mexico

(9-3, 4-0 LSC) at Angelo State (9-1, 4-0 LSC)

4:30 p.m., San Angelo, Texas

Last time out: San Angelo State kicked off a three-game home stand when hosting Texas Woman’s University last Thursday, and the Rams won 84-61, their fourth straight victory. The Greyhounds made good on their visit to Odessa, Texas on Saturday, edging UT Permian Basin 61-55 to win their second straight after a two-game losing streak.

Last meeting: Feb. 22, 2018. The Greyhounds had a winning streak snapped at three when losing to Angelo State 59-56 on the road. It began a three-game losing streak that concluded with their Lone Star Conference tournament ouster to end the season.

The lowdown: The Rams have three double-digit scorers — Marquita Daniels (16.0 ppg), De’Anira Moore (15.2) and Dezirae Hampton (14.8). All are also stingy defenders, with Daniels collecting 34 steals, Moore 10 blocks and Hampton 24 steals so far this season. It’s a trio that could give Eastern fits on both ends of the floor.

Saturday

Eastern New Mexico at Texas A&M-Kingsville

1 p.m., Kingsville, Texas

Last meeting: Feb. 24, 2018. The Greyhounds ended their regular season with a defeat, falling at Kingsville, 69-62.

The lowdown: A&M-Kingsville has one double-digit scorer, Brynae Thompson (14.6 ppg), and you have to go more than 5 ppg down to get to the Javelina’s next-leading scorer, Cloe Lane (9.4). But Lane is a tough defender, with a team-high nine blocks to her name this season.
