PORTALES — The Portales City Council will consider the adoption of a water asset management plan during Tuesday’s meeting.

City Manager Sammy Standefer said the plan will identify all of the city’s water-related assets like pipes in the ground and develop a plan to replace some of the existing infrastructure.

Standefer said the plan is a requirement for many of the city’s funding agencies.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Memorial Building:

• Authorization to enter negotiations for engineering services to monitor wells related to the city’s landfill closure.

• A resolution authorizing the city to submit an application for DWI grant funding.

• A resolution declaring Jan. 21 as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Portales.
