Curry County Association of Educational Retirees

Curry County Association of Educational Retirees hosted guest speaker Loralee Woods Hunt, who spoke about the SunZia Southwest Transmission Projects and wind energy farms being developed and constructed in the Grady, Broadview and Corona areas.

The Grady/Broadview Wind Project, begun July 27, 2018, has 85,000 acres under lease and will be completed by March 30, 2019. According to Hunt, wind energy development thrives in low-populated rural areas that have high winds and brings much-needed jobs and monies to those areas.

We invite all retired Curry County teachers to join us at K-Bob’s at 11:00 a.m. for lunch and 11:30 a.m. for the program. Our next meeting will be Dec. 4 when we will be entertained by the Clovis High School Choir as they present seasonal Christmas music.
