CLOVIS — A Curry County jury on Thursday convicted a Clovis man of fleeing from a law-enforcement officer.

Brandon Cordova, 36, could face up to 5 1/2 years in prison when sentenced.

Police said Cordova, on March 8, 2017, led an officer on a car chase up Gidding Street, to 21st Street and onto North Main Street in Clovis.

“(He) swerved around cars, driving into oncoming traffic,” according to a news release from District Attorney Andrea Reeb.

The officer terminated the pursuit for safety purposes and Cordova was arrested later, the release said.

His trial lasted one day.
