PORTALES — Morgan Medina scored late in the first half, and Chloe Hull made it stand up with a shutout as East Central scored a 2-0 nonconference win over Eastern New Mexico Thursday night at Greyhound Stadium.
Jocelyn Caracheo scored an insurance goal early in the second half for the Tigers (2-3), who won despite getting outshot 15-7 on the evening.
Anahi Hernandez and Samantha Fabela each had three shots for Eastern (1-2-1). Taylor Jackson and Kirsten Lane alternated the two halves at goal, with each allowing one goal and making one save.
The Greyhounds host Southern Nazarene today at noon. It is their final game before opening conference play next weekend against Texas A&M-Commerce.
