1968: Tidbits reported by the Clovis News-Journal:
• Brenda Nolet was Teen of the Week. The Clovis High School senior was a varsity cheerleader, second runner-up for track sweetheart and a member of the prom decorating committee.
• The city of Clovis had issued five building permits and one moving permit for projects totaling $77,335. Ivan Tucker's residence at 208 Merrill was estimated to cost $12,821.
• Mrs. Richard Shanklin and baby girl had been dismissed from the Clovis hospital.
• Zales Jewelers suggested in an advertisement that customers "Ask about our charge plan. We think you deserve a lot of credit."
