June 7, 2018

PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University has added an assistant athletic director for marketing, events and life skills, according to a release from the school.

Melissa Lee will begin her new position July 9. She has been a teacher at Portales High School since 2014 and previously served as a teacher and technology coordinator at Floyd High School.

"We are pleased to have Melissa on board and part of our team," ENMU Athletic Director Greg Waggoner said in the release. "She has the background, experience and skill sets for all dimensions of this job and she knows and understands ENMU and Portales well, which will provide her some momentum as we move forward."

Lee is certainly familiar with ENMU. She served as a graduate assistant for the track and field team from 2006 to 2007 and received her Masters of Education degree in Education Administration from the school in December. She is also the wife of Greyhound football coach Kelley Lee.

Other prior experience included serving as the community relations coordinator for the Albuquerque Isotopes, an internship with the Omaha Storm Chasers and work on the College World Series and a year as a Gear Up teacher at Valencia High School.

Camp discount offered Friday — Eastern New Mexico University's women's basketball program is briefly offering another discount opportunity at its individual skills camp, set for Monday through Wednesday at Greyhound Arena.

Greyhound coach Josh Prock will be in the lobby of Greyhound Arena 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Friday to sign campers up for $85.

Online or same-day registration is $100.
