CLOVIS — A Clovis elementary school was locked down for about an hour Monday morning after police received a report of a man brandishing a knife in the area.
Officers about 7:30 a.m. responded to the area of 13th and Ash streets in reference to a man “pulling a knife and yelling at people as he walked toward Sycamore Street,” Clovis Police Capt. Roman Romero wrote in an email.
As a precaution, Parkview Elementary was locked down — all exterior doors locked and classes being conducted as normal — according to a school news release.
The lockdown was lifted about 9 a.m.
Romero said the man was not located despite a heavy police response.
