ENMU adds Division-I transfer Rowe to fold

PORTALES - The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team is looking to shore up losses in the backcourt due to graduation, and it hopes Division I transfer Laura Rowe can help offset some of that attrition.

The Greyhounds announced the transfer of 5-foot-10 wing Laura Rowe from Abilene Christian Friday. Because she is moving to Division I, she comes to ENMU with all of her three remaining years of eligibility.

"Laura is an extremely talented young lady; she can score in a variety of ways," ENMU coach Josh Prock said. "She is one of the best shooters I have seen in some time and Laura can put it on the floor and make things happen as well. We are graduating 3 guards this year and we knew we needed to add some experience and depth to our backcourt."

Rowe saw limited action with the Wildcats, with 67 minutes played over 15 games. During that stretch, she scored 29 points on 45 percent shooting and pulled down eight rebounds.

Prior to college, Rowe was a standout at Katy High School in Texas. She averaged 23.6 points and 7.6 rebounds as a senior, and was the team's offensive and overall MVP in the 2016-17 season.

Rowe was the 2016-17 District 19-6A MVP, and holds school records for points in a career (2,088), a season (756) and a game (39) and single-game assists (10).

In their fifth season under Prock, the Greyhounds went 16-12, with a 12-8 record in Lone Star Conference play.
