Eight students receive awards

CLOVIS — Eight Clovis High School students received awards at the Distributive Education Clubs of America State Career Conference in Albuquerque last week, according to a press release from Clovis Municipal Schools.

Montez Wright and Amber Sandoval won first place in the Banner Contest competition.

Alicia Parks, Antonia Baker and Carlos Munoz-Hernandez earned third place in the Fashion Merchandise Promotional Plan competition.

Sol Carver and Caden Zarikta earned third place in the Start Up Business Plan competition.

And Victor Maia earned seventh place in the Public Speaking competition.

Advisor Tracy Henderson was also elected to the DECA state board of executives at the conference, the release said.

Kindergarten registration set

CLOVIS — Clovis Municipal Schools is scheduled to hold kindergarten registration from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on April 20, according to a CMS press release.

Registration is set for the elementary school within the child’s attendance zone, which can be found on the district’s website, http://www.clovis-schools.org, along with enrollment forms.

Documents required for registration include birth certificate, current immunization record, Social Security number and proof of residence, according to the release.
