United Way volunteer Jennifer Ryan pays Clovis High School Freshman Academy student Alejandro Duarte after pawning an item during Reality Day on Tuesday.

CLOVIS — The oft-repeated question from high school students — "When are we going to use this in real life?" — was answered on Wednesday during Reality Day at the Clovis High School Freshman Academy.

I love this, as a business owner I love the reality of life. Most schools don't teach these survival skills, its more a state program to teach the test to satisfy government for money. One of the questions I always ask when I hire, is do you know how to make change with out a p.o.s system showing them. No, so the interview is over, sorry i don't need you. I personally would volunteer my time to help with this and explain business to any kids interested. Thanks for this program, still i love it.
