Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
CLOVIS — The Living Word Church of God will have officially found its new home following Saturday’s church dedication.
Starting at 1 p.m. Living Word will hold a dedication service that will include readings and music at its new church, located at 2101 E. 21st St.
“We’ve got a senior pastor from New Beginnings in Albuquerque and special music coming, people from within Clovis, we’re very excited about our new building,” Associate Pastor Bonetta Hutson said.
Pastor Richard Mansfield from New Beginnings will close out the ceremony with some remarks.
Mike Romero Music, an Albuquerque-based group of five musicians who perform original worship music, will be on hand to provide the tunes.
“(Romero’s) just a very awesome minister and musician and we’re excited to have him,” Hutson said.
Members of the church and its leadership are excited to celebrate officially finding a new home after the group’s previous church was destroyed by an electrical fire in October.
“It’s going to be very nice, we’re so blessed I can’t even go into the church without wanting to cheer up,” Pastor David Stevens said. “It’s just remarkable what God has done for us.”
Hutson compared the excitement to when a dog gets so hyped up it starts shaking from top to bottom.
“We walk in to our church and we look at all these crosses and see all these new opportunities we didn’t have at the other building,” Hutson said.
Following the dedication ceremony Living Word will host a catered dinner. To RSVP for the meal call the church at 575-763-6796 or email Hutson at: [email protected]
