ROSWELL — Dalton Thatcher poured in 20 points, one of three Texico players in double figures, as the Wolverines took care of New Mexico Military Institute 61-33 on Thursday night.
Nathan Phipps added 14 points and Skyler Davis chipped in with 13 for the Wolves, who improved to 2-0 overall and on the road this season.
Hector Rena led NMMI (1-2) with 15 points.
Texico will visit Portales, which lost at Roswell on Thursday, tipping off after the JV game, which starts at 5:30 p.m. It will mark the Wolverines’ third straight road game to open the season.
“That’ll be a good test for us,” Texico head coach Ty Thatcher said.
