The latest Hillary Clinton 500-page study in denial, “What Happened” is out, and according to reviews she once again takes full responsibility for losing the election.
Shortly after accepting culpability for the disaster, she again lists all the usual suspects who were complicit in her debacle.
In addition to Trump, Comey, the New York Times, the Russians, the deplorables, the misogynists and the women who did not vote for her she added Bernie Sanders and President Barack Obama.
Bernie she blamed for raising the issue of her speeches to Wall Street and giving the opposition campaign the idea for Trump’s attacks against her as “Crooked Hillary.” In addition, when she wanted to fight back forcefully against the Sanders attack on her corporate influence peddling, Obama and some of her friends cautioned her to remain quiet.
I have never heard Hillary thank Sen. Sanders for his comment during the first Democratic Debate that, “The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.” The truth of the matter is that had Sanders gone after her hard on the email question, he might have been the Democratic nominee.
What Sanders did do in addition to staying in the race until the bitter end was to out-democrat the Democrats.
When Hillary would raise the issue of young people fighting to pay off student loans and announce that she would take steps to ease some of the burden through interest reductions and the like, Bernie was right there to say he would cancel all student loan debt. When Hillary proclaimed that we should examine the cost of college for young people and do something about cutting the cost of higher education, Bernie leaped at the opportunity to explain that his plan included free college for all. You can’t cut cost any more than “free.” It’s a wonder that Sanders didn’t win in a landslide.
Bernie is still at it today. In addition to free college and canceling student loan debt, he has announced that what this country needs is everyone on Medicare. Not to be left behind, Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren, Corey Booker and Kamala Harris have joined Sanders in this latest plan to distribute government largesse.
Sanders, Warren, Booker and Harris as well as Hillary and Joe Biden are all mentioned as potential Democrat presidential candidates in 2020. The latest litmus test for them will be Medicare for all. Remember, Bernie said it first and Bernie is the only one of them who actually believes this socialist baloney.
