Mixed denim on fashion front

It's the season to be creative and what better way to express your eccentricities than with denim from head to toe. Let's talk about all the fun you could be having with a tweak or redesign of your denim wear.

First is the denim jacket. Most of us own one. No matter what shade your denim jacket is, its totally cool to mix your denim wash tones. So, say yes to the light blue and dark blues or stone washes together.

If you want to change the look of your old school jean jacket, you can start by cropping it shorter. Another fun trend for denim is adding embellishments from beaded pearls cascading down the leg to adding straight lines down the sides for a sporty look. Adding patches to old denim is still a good look, too.

Remember the denim midi skirt of the nineties? In high school, I remember the tutorials on how to cut out a pair of old jeans to make the mid-length skirt with an unfinished hem.

Another fun creation is making your own seventies re-imagined OTT (over-the-top) flare. They are a dramatic flare starting at the knee and can range from classic, formal to distressed styles.

Jeans that are ankle length with detail are a big hit too. Inseams ranging from 29-26 aren’t just for shorter people. Popular hems are the step hem, curved hem, raw hem, and frayed hem. If you really want to have fun, try the exaggerated destroyed hem and cut away with "no cares."

They’re all a perfect opportunity to highlight your new shoes.
