1952: The Air Force reported seeing an unidentified flying object over Los Alamos, the site of major atomic energy installations.

The observers said they saw something shiny and metallic in the sky for 30 minutes traveling quickly but erratically.

Fighter pilots were charged with finding the object from the air but were unsuccessful. Observers said they saw the object dodge the planes.

1952: Delegates from the Clovis Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses returned home following a three-day Bible meet in Texas.

There were a few of the 5,510 participants from 12 different states, making it one of the largest conventions, according to presiding minister Preston Bowen.

The participants heard several lectures including "Take Courage — God's Kingdom is at Hand."
