Flags to remain at half-staff until sunset Saturday

SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez issued an executive order to fly flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Thursday in honor of U.S. Air Force Capt. Frederick Dellecker.

Dellecker was one of three serving in Cannon Air Force Base’s 318th Special Operations Squadron killed in a military plane crash as part of a March 14 training exercise.

A release from the governor’s office noted similar orders will be issued in the coming days for Capt. Kenneth Dalga and Maj. Andrew Decker. Flags will be ordered at half-staff until sunset Saturday.

Flags were flown at half-staff on Tuesday in honor of all three.

Dellecker and Decker were promoted posthumously from first lieutenant and captain, respectively, according to the release.
