CLOVIS — More than 2,500 south Curry County residents lost power for about 50 minutes Tuesday afternoon due to a transformer issue near the Southwest Cheese plant.
Xcel Energy spokesman Wes Reeves said outages were reported around 3:53 p.m., and that it appeared the transformer issue caused a line to trip off.
Reeves said data showed 2,544 customers were affected.
